The extraction of Russian oil in 2008, declined.

Oil production in Russia on the basis of 2008 fell by 0.7 percent compared with the previous year and amounted to 488,105 million tons. This is the agency Interfax, referring to the central data dispetchesrkogo management of fuel and energy complex (CDU TEK).
Exports of Russian oil in the country and abroad last year declined compared to 2007 at 6.1 and 6.2 percent respectively. In summary CDU TEK also notes that natural gas production in Russia last year increased by 1.7 percent. There were produced 664,999 billion cubic meters of gas.
In late 2008, the Ministry of Environment reported that oil production in the country in January-November fell by 0.7 percent on the first 11 months of 2007 and reached 446 million tons. According to the forecasts of the Ministry, at the end of the year oil production was reduced by 0.3 per cent.
Oil reserves in Russia in 2008 increased by 500 million tons and natural gas - 650 billion cubic meters. According to preliminary results, the stocks of Gazprom grew by almost ten percent.
