Neighboring Ukraine in the same quarter will buy from Gazprom's oil to 360 dollars for the same amount, and the average price in Kiev is projected at 230 dollars per thousand cubic meters.
For consumers in Belarus, the cost of gas will be fixed at 175 dollars per thousand cubic meters. Kobyakov promised that the final consumer price of industrial fuel for the year will not grow. Thus, at the beginning of the year, the Government of Belarus intends to subsidize their businesses, and hopes to return the money towards the end of 2009.
In December 2008, the President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko said that during the period 1 January through 31 December 2009 the price of Russian gas delivered to Belarus, will fall in 2,5-3 times.
