January 11, Prime Minister of the Presidency of the EU the Czech Republic Mirek Topolanek, currently in Kiev to resolve the gas conflict between Russia and Ukraine, said that the EU will receive Russian gas after 36 hours. Now the Ukrainian gas transmission system is ready to receive fuel from Russia.
Earlier in the night on Sunday signed a protocol on the establishment of an international commission to control the transit of Russian gas to Europe. Russia and the EU signed the protocol as early as Saturday. Previously, it was reported that Russia would resume its gas exports through Ukrainian territory immediately after the work mechanism to monitor its transit.
Russia suspended gas supply to Ukraine on Jan. 7, and shortly thereafter, without the fuel remained a number of EU countries. January 1, Gazprom turned off fuel supplies to Ukraine because of debts.
