The head of the Federal Service for Labor and Employment (Rostrud) Yuri Gertsy reported that the actual number of unemployed in Russia is about six million people. Gertsy noted that he expects further growth of unemployment in the economically developed regions, where there was a highly productive sphere, the agency Interfax.
According to the head Rostruda, worse things to employment in regions such as Krasnoyarsk, Vologda, Novgorod and Tver region, as well as in the Far East. Gertsy said the low unemployment rate in Moscow and St. Petersburg, adding that the authorities of both cities will allow measures to maintain stability in the labor market.
The head of the Federal Service for Labor and Employment also said that should not be expected to increase in unemployment in some regions of the Southern Federal District, in particular, in Dagestan, Kabardino-Balkaria and Ingushetia. "There, the unemployment rate will remain at the level at which it is. There is nothing to reduce" - explained hertz.
Earlier, the head of MHSD Tatiana Golikova reported that at the end of December 2008 in Russia was officially registered 1.454 billion people. Golikova noted that in 2009 the number of unemployed will rise to 2,1-2,2 million.
