Belarus has requested a billion dollars from the World Bank.

Belarus is counting on attracting World Bank loan for one billion dollars. The statement was made chairman of the National Bank of Belarus (NBB) Piotr Prokopovich, reports RIA Novosti.
According Prokopovich, in the initial stage of negotiations to bring the loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD). If successful negotiation resources of the Bank may proceed to the republic in July 2009. In addition, Belarus, and expects to receive loan funds directly from Europe.
In early January, the International Monetary Fund has provided loans to Belarus, 2.5 billion dollars to implement 15-month program of reforms, with the first tranche of $ 788 million dollars has already arrived in the country.
