The real income of Russian citizens in 2008 increased by five percent compared with a year earlier. This writes the "Russian Newspaper", with reference to the preliminary data of Rosstat. The highest earnings growth over the past year occurred in the Ivanovo region, where the figure rose to 36.3 percent. In Orel and Ryazan areas incomes grew by more than 20 per cent.
In two of the seven federal districts of Russia, real cash incomes of the population declined. Thus, a decrease of this index in the Central District in 2008 was 4.8 per cent, while in the North-West - 3.9 percent. In the Urals Federal District was the largest increase in per capita income - by 11.1 percent compared to 2007.
In 2008, industrial output fell in 20 regions, and four remained unchanged. Kaluga region has demonstrated the growth of industrial production to 32.4 per cent. This happened because the area had been opened several new businesses. In particular, the growth performance has contributed to the opening assembly production Volkswagen in November 2007.
Writes "Rossiyskaya Gazeta" on the situation in the labor market, Ministry of Regional Development of Russia shared all of the regions into three groups: high, medium and low risk. According to the Minregiona, the greatest risk of rising unemployment is observed in 17 regions of Russia, including Vladimir, Ivanovo, Kaluga and Chelyabinsk regions, and Chuvashia.
40 more regions, the Ministry identified the group with medium level of risk. According to authorities, the lowest risk of rising unemployment is observed in 26 regions of Russia, located on the south and the Far East.
