Medvedev described the conditions of reducing expenditure budget in 2009.

"If as a result of crises in oil prices, which are laid out in terms of development of our country will be critical to fall, we will have to take further restrictive measures. Once again comes the question of budget deficits. This needs to be ready," - said Medvedev.
"Never in the world economy, the situation was not so uncertain in the past, at least, 50-70 years," - he said, noting that the current recession is comparable only to the year 1931 and during the Second World War.
Earlier it was reported that the costs of the budget of Russia in 2009 will grow to 9.6 trillion rubles, while revenues were 6.3 trillion rubles. In doing so, the budget deficit will be eight per cent of GDP.
Recall that the government of Russia is in the process of revising the budget parameters for 2009. The document is reviewed on the basis of forecasting oil prices of 41 dollars per barrel, but not $ 95 as it was incorporated in the current version of the budget, adopted in November 2008. This expenditure budget was increased by 600 billion rubles, compared with the first version of the budget.
It is anticipated that a bill to amend the budget of 2009 will be considered by the Government at a meeting on March 19. Later it will be forwarded to the Parliament, and then goes to the President for signature.
