The Government of Russia has decided to leave without changing the rates of heat and electricity in 2009. The statement was made deputy head of the regulation and control over pricing in the electricity industry, Federal Service on Tariffs Denis Milutin, reports RIA Novosti. Earlier, the authorities decided to revise electricity tariffs during the year rather than once a year, as it was before.
Recall from the beginning of 2009 in Russia there are new tariffs for gas and electricity. The cost of gas for the population grew by 5 percent, and electricity went up by 25 per cent. It is assumed that with the 1 April 2009 the price of gas will rise by another seven per cent from 1 July - a seven per cent and from 1 October - at 6.2 percent.
At the end of February this year, chairman of the partnership guaranteeing suppliers and power companies "Vasily Kiselev said that retail power companies owe consumers a hundred billion rubles. In doing so, the debt of the power companies in the wholesale electricity market has grown compared with the beginning of 2009 to 5 billion rubles to 22 billion.
Previously, the Ministry of Energy of Russia reported that in the near future the Government of Russia may be two or three times to reduce the plans for the construction and commissioning of new power plants. According to the general scheme of energy facilities in the country until 2020, annual growth in energy consumption projected at 4.2 percent. Last year it amounted to only 1,9 per cent.
