The State Duma will force the government to report on anti-crisis measures.

The State Duma of Russia March 25, 2009 adopted on first reading a bill obliging the government quarterly report to MPs on the implementation of anti-crisis measures. This writes the newspaper Kommersant. During the passage of the bill voted in all the MPs present at the meeting.
The document stipulates that the Government, Central Bank of Russia and VEB will have a quarterly basis to provide information about the State Duma crisis spending. In particular, the purposes and amounts of loans issued, as well as on the size of corporations gosgaranty. However, as noted by "Kommersant", it is not clear how the Duma will be able to influence the decision of the Government, if it considers the measures ineffective.
March 6, 2009 it became known that the Duma has frozen a bill obliging the government to report on anti-crisis measures. In particular, "Nezavisimaya gazeta" reported that a hearing on the bill does not even appear on the plans to parliament in March.
At the end of 2008 on the orders of the President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev in the Constitution was amended, on which the Government should report annually to Parliament.
As expected, the first government report, prepared in accordance with the amendment to be submitted to the State Duma already April 6, 2009. As a result, MPs will have to formulate their proposals to the Government for the coming year. They will form the basis of the Duma regulations, the adoption of which is scheduled for April 21 this year.
March 19, the Government of Russia announced the anti-crisis program aimed at ensuring the stability of financial markets in Russia and to stimulate the economy. According to the document, the Government intends to spend funds on improving the national welfare of the capitalization of Russian business and the State Bank. In addition, planned to reduce inflation to 7.5 percent by 2011.
