The Government of Russia in 2009 will increase to four times the cost of updating the State Fund of precious metals and stones (Gosfond). To this end, budgeted at 45.4 billion rubles. Sources of publication in the Government reported that the volume of purchases of diamonds from Alrosa needed, because their sales have fallen almost to zero. Alrosa is one of the world's largest diamond companies. It controls 25 percent of the world market of rough diamonds. Companies ALROSA produce 97 percent of all Russian diamonds, while the company evaluates its own stocks of raw materials, the 110 billion dollars. In 2008, Alrosa diamond mining in dollar terms amounted to 2.33 billion.
