According to Nalivaichenko, the documents were received in response to a request from the Security Service, received by the Government. The Security Service of Ukraine initiated a case of theft of gas. March 4, with the support of the Security Service investigators conducted a special search and seizure of documents in the office of "Naftogaz".
Investigating the case is under the personal supervision of President of Ukraine Viktor Yushchenko. Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko and her supporters from the BYuT parliamentary faction called the criminal proceedings against the "Naftogaz Ukraine" illegal.
