The Russian gas monopoly Gazprom has agreed with the Spanish Gas Natural of small transactions in the market liquid and gas pipeline. This mean that in the near future gas contracts, Gazprom will be in Spain, said Interfax, citing the statement by the head of Gazprom Alexei Miller. Earlier, Russian gas is not delivered to Spain.
Miller noted that the first in Spain to be supplied by only small amounts of fuel. However, in line with the introduction of the Shtokman field in 2014 is planned to increase supply. This agreement with Gas Natural provides for the participation of Spanish companies in the second and third phases of the development of the Shtokman field.
The agreement between Gazprom and Gas Natural has been signed within the framework of official visit of President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev in Spain. With his participation has been signed and a number of other documents. In particular, Vnesheconombank and the Spanish insurance agency Cesce have agreed on cooperation in the reconstruction of the Khabarovsk refinery.
In addition, countries endorsed a memorandum of understanding between the two Governments in the field of energy. Different arrangements of intent signed with their Spanish partners, "Inter RAO UES", "Transmashholding", CFR, and the General Prosecutor's Office of Russia.
