In 2009, the volume of air travel in Russia fell by 10 percent compared with 2008. With such a forecast was made by the head of the Ministry of Transport Igor Levitin, transmits Interfax.
Levitin said that the decline in demand for air travel would mean that airlines would have to review its route network and optimize the structure of the air fleet.

Earlier, the Government approved a forecast of six percent decline, but now officials suggest that the reduction would be larger. How long it will decrease the volume of traffic, not Levitin said.
The decline in freight traffic relates primarily to the fact that many companies have started to reduce production in times of crisis and pereizbytka products on the market. In particular, reduced the production of steel and oil companies, which often transport their goods it is by rail.
