Inflation in Russia on the basis of 2008 at 13.5 percent. This was at a meeting with President Dmitry Medvedev stated Minister for Economic Development of the Russian Federation Elvira Nabiullina.
Previously, it was reported that inflation in Russia for a week from 25 November to 1 Dec, 2008 stood at 0.2 percent. However, since the beginning of the year, consumer prices rose by 12.5 per cent.
November 24, Russian Economy Ministry has revised its forecast for inflation for 2008, indicating that the year-end increase in consumer prices only slightly higher than 13 per cent. According to the official forecast of the Central Bank, inflation in 2008 was 13 per cent.
November 7, Assistant to the President of Russia Arkady Dvorkovich said that the government expected consumer price inflation in 2008 will not exceed 14 percent.
According to Finance Ministry forecasts Russia, inflation in Russia in 2009 was 8 percent. The federal budget for 2009 inflation projected at 8.5 percent.
In 2007, inflation stood at 11.9 percent.
