The Federation Council approved a bill to raise social payments in 2009, reported Interfax. In particular, approved the document suggests increasing the basic labor old-age pension, disability and survivors.
The bill also provides for an increase in monthly benefits to citizens affected by the Chernobyl disaster, at the Semipalatinsk test site and the accident in 1957 at the association "Mayak". In addition, the increased cash payments will be able to receive Hero of the Soviet Union, Socialist Labor and full Order of Glory.
As expected, the basic part of old age pensions would be increased from 1 Mar., 2009 to 156 rubles to 1950 rubles, and in December - to 510 rubles to 2460 rubles. Disability pensions third degree, as well as citizens who have reached the age of 80 years, will be increased by 312 rubles to 3900 rubles.
4 Dec., 2008 during the "straight line" with the Russians, Prime Minister of Russia Vladimir Putin said that pensions in 2009 would be raised three times. At the same time improving the basic labor pensions will be doubled, and insurance - once. If inflation is high, the insurance portion of pensions may be increased again.
In addition, since 2010, will begin reassessment of the pension rights of those citizens who received them in the Soviet Union. As expected, their pension will be increased by 10 per cent plus one percent for each year of employment. The average pension will grow to 1,700 rubles. In doing so, citizens in the form to the right to a pension beginning in 2010, will be able to receive pension payments of at least 40 per cent of their average earnings.
