In 2009, Gazprom will lose a third of export earnings.

Russian Gazprom in 2009, lost a third of export earnings, which brings the company more than 60 percent of revenue. This writes the newspaper Kommersant.
Projections of Gazprom, in 2009 export revenues decline by 31.7 percent due to falling average export price to 280 dollars per thousand cubic meters. In 2008, the company planned to export gas to earn 64 billion dollars. Thus, while maintaining the volume of exports of Russian gas next year, Gazprom lost 20 billion dollars.
Earlier, representatives of Gazprom have said that gas prices in Europe in the first quarter of 2009 decreased to 360-400 dollars per thousand cubic meters to 460-500 dollars in the fourth quarter of 2008. According to the publication, Gazprom reduced the forecast cost of gas in 2009 for the EU from 370 to 280 dollars per thousand cubic meters. If the forecast Gazprom will come true, the combined revenues of the group in the U.S. in 2009 will decrease by 10 percent to 111.2 billion marks in the U.S..
The newspaper Vedomosti said that the plan to supply fuel abroad have not yet been lowered - 165 billion cubic meters of gas, which is 2.5 per cent increase forecast for 2008. But in Europe, as in Russia, decreasing demand for gas due to warmer weather. In November, exports of Gazprom in the far abroad has fallen by 21 per cent to a similar level of 2007.
Reduced production of Gazprom in 2008, could amount to 3 per cent of the planned 560 billion cubic meters of gas. The Government has pledged to provide financial support to Gazprom in order to partially offset the losses that the gas monopoly has suffered because of a decline in gas consumption.
Earlier reported that the investment program of Gazprom in 2009 will not be reduced and will be 920 billion rubles. For comparison, investprogramma gas monopoly in 2008 is 822 billion rubles.
