Medvedev praised the "accurate" the devaluation of the ruble.

The President of Russia Dmitry Medvedev stated that "accurate" a change of exchange rate helped to keep the trust of the Russians in the banking sector. In an interview with TV channel "Russia", which is posted on the official website of the President, he said that the Central Bank also made some changes "quietly and honestly."
Medvedev noted that to date, the ruble, in his view, consistent with the real capacity to pay the Russian currency. "Even more importantly, the weakening of the ruble was not spasmodically, and especially not in such a barbaric way, as was done in 1998 - said on.Prezident added that the same action carried out other large states with growing economies and large proportion of exports, which are faced with declining foreign exchange earnings.
Commenting on the current economic situation in Russia, Medvedev has promised to provide assistance not only to enterprises but also the private sector because they provide many jobs for Russians. He added that the Government intends to send an additional 44 billion rubles to create new jobs.
