"I am very sorry that in this dirty presidential campaign, which, unfortunately, Ukrainian politicians have already begun, the word" default "is used as an instrument of influence on international financial organizations, rating agencies, just to destroy Ukraine", - explained his request Tymoshenko.
According to the Ukrainian prime minister, the state and all state-owned enterprises to fulfill their obligations to pay foreign debts in full.
February 16, 2009 State Statistics Committee of Ukraine reported that the rate of decline in industrial production accelerated in January to 34.1 per cent compared with January 2008. This service has refused to publish monthly performance indicators of GDP and announced that it will disclose the data quarterly.
Earlier, the leader of the team of advisers chapter of National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) Valery Litvitsky said that in his estimation, the country's GDP in January 2009 decreased by approximately 20 per cent. "This is a historical maximum. Home is very bad," - added Litvitsky. At the end of 2008 the Ukrainian economy grew by 2.1 percent, while the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine forecasted GDP growth of 3,5-4 percent.
