ON Ruhrgas and VNG on alternative supplies of gas to Slovakia. This was reported in the official press release issued at the site of SPP.
According to the SPP Lubomir Tuhshera which leads RIA Novosti, the document does not refer to specific technical conditions of supply of gas, and fuel prices. These issues will be subject to further negotiations SPP from E. ON Ruhrgas and VNG.
Tuhsher added that the need for alternative supplies of gas to Slovakia may arise, for example, if Russia will restrict the supply of fuel transit through Ukrainian territory. Now 98 per cent of Slovakia's gas comes from Russia.
In early January 2009, Slovakia became one of the most affected by the gas conflict, Russia and Ukraine, countries. After the January 7, the Russian side has stopped the transit of gas through Ukraine, Slovakia, almost broke the energy crisis. The Government has even stated that it intends to re-start the nuclear power plant "Yaslovske-Bohunice, which was stopping one of the conditions for Slovakia's membership.
January 20, the supply of fuel through Ukraine resumed. After that, the Slovak authorities have stated that rejected the idea of resuming the work accident.
