Industrial decline in the euro accelerated.

The volume of industrial production in the euro area declined in December 2008 to 12 per cent on the same month last year, informs Bloomberg referring to data by Eurostat. This decline was a record at least since 1986, when started the relevant statistics. Regarding the previous month decline was 2.6 percent.
Companies euro reduces the volume of production, since the financial crisis has led to a significant drop in demand for most product groups. In November, production volumes fell by 7.7 percent compared to the same month of 2007.
In some countries the rate of decline has been significantly higher than the average for the region. For example, in Spain the figure was 19,6 percent.
The drop in performance and the impact on GDP growth as a whole. For example, according to preliminary data, in France in the fourth quarter the economy declined by 1 percent, the same result was recorded in Spain. According to EU forecasts, the euro zone economy in 2009 decreased by 1,9 percent.
