The real debt of wages in Moscow doubled at 101 million rubles. That was reported by RIA Novosti with reference to the statement of the Chief Public Prosecutor of Moscow Yuri Syomin. The prosecutor did not specify for what period such debts have grown significantly under the salary.
Last December, the Federal Statistics Service in Moscow reported that the total arrears of wages in the capital on 1 November was more than 73 million rubles. This one only works Topaz owed 38.1 million rubles.
Overall, Russia owed wages on 1 January 2009 stood at 4.674 trillion rubles. In doing so, even in December the figure was much higher - 7,765 billion rubles.
Increase in debts on wages in Moscow may be linked to the economic crisis, which demand for products of many companies is falling. Because of this, many of them were in a difficult financial situation and are forced to cut salaries or dismiss staff.
Previously, it was reported that by February 3, the number of officially registered unemployed in Russia exceeded 1.7 million. It was expected that by the end of the year this figure will be above the mark of two million people.
