The World Bank has worsened the forecast of a decline in the Ukrainian GDP.

The World Bank, the Ukrainian economy to decline this year to nine per cent. Such a statement made by the bank Ruslan Piontkovsky, reported AFP. Piontkovsky also noted that the World Bank expects growth in the Ukrainian economy by one percent in 2010.
Late last year, the World Bank predicted that the decline of Ukrainian GDP in 2009, on the basis of four per cent. Independent economists believe that economic decline would be 8-15 per cent. The Government of Ukraine, by contrast, planned growth - at 0.4 percent.
April 7, the American billionaire and investor George Soros said that the Ukrainian economy is close to default. In his view, "serious problems" are also available from the Baltic countries, which, like Ukraine, are among the most affected nations.
Recall Ukrainian GDP in the first two months of this year fell by 30 percent compared with January-February 2008, while industrial production in January 2009 decreased by more than a third compared to the same month last year.
