"Naftogaz Ukraine" in the first quarter of 2009 increased gas production at 4.1 per cent to 5101 billion cubic meters as compared to the same period last year. This is stated in a press release the Ministry of Fuel and Energy of Ukraine. Crude oil with gas condensate in the same period fell by 5.4 per cent to 935.4 thousand tons.
Increased gas production controlled by the "Naftogaz" Ukrgasproduction "was 5.3 percent. The total volume of gas extracted in the first quarter amounted to 4.023 trillion cubic meters. "Chernomornaftogaz for the first three months of 2009, obtained at 1.2 per cent more gas than the same period last year. The volume of production amounted to 294.1 million cubic meters.
Under the financial plan "Naftogaz Ukraine", the flow of funds to the company in 2009 should amount to about 92.5 billion hryvnia (11.5 billion dollars).
Previously, central dispatch of fuel and energy complex (CDU TEK) reported that in the first quarter of 2009 the volume of gas production in Russia declined by 15 percent over the same period last year. The figure for the first three months amounted to 153 billion cubic meters.
The Russian gas company Gazprom on the volumes of gas production in the first quarter has not yet been revealed. The share of the group accounts for 84 per cent of the volume of Russian gas production. As of mid-March this year, gas production by Gazprom fell by 25.3 percent over the same period a year earlier.
