Tax revenues to the Russian budget in January-March 2009 decreased by seven percent over the same period last year. This is stated in the official press release issued at the site of the Federal Tax Service (NRF), Russia.
For comparison, the first two months of 2009, tax revenue declined by 13.5 percent compared to January-February 2008.
Total in the first quarter of this year the federal budget was 735 billion rubles. The bulk of tax revenue, 45 percent, was the collection of VAT. Share NDPI (The mineral extraction tax) amounted to 23 per cent of total fees, and UST, and the profit tax - 15 and 13 percent respectively.
Proceeds of VAT to the budget of the Russian Federation in January-March 2009 amounted to 329 billion rubles, an increase of 3.5 times compared with the first quarter of last year. Charges NDPI amounted to 169 billion rubles, which decreased by 2,2 times in comparison with January-March 2008 due to falling oil prices. Proceeds from the tax on profits reached 95 billion rubles, down to 1.8 times in comparison with the first quarter of last year.
Earlier in the Ministry of Finance stated that in 2009 the collection of taxes to the federal budget in a crisis can significantly drop. In particular, it was assumed that revenues from income taxes to decrease by 30 percent.
