Russian customs fees decreased by 34 percent during the quarter.

Federal Customs Service (FCS) for the first quarter of this year contributed to the Russian budget of 654.97 billion rubles. This 34 per cent less than in January-March 2008, reports RIA Novosti.
According to the FCS, in March of this year, thanks to the Customs Service of the Russian budget added 238.52 billion rubles. For comparison, in March 2008 the figure amounted to 352.29 billion rubles.
In early March, it was reported that for the first two months of 2009, Customs charges dropped by 36 percent over the same period last year. In January-February, the budget was 416 billion rubles.
Customs Charges and Federal Tax Services make up a large portion of federal budget revenues. Recall, in accordance with the revised budget-2009, state revenues will decline from 10.9 to 6.7 trillion rubles, and the cost will increase from 9 to 9.6 trillion rubles.
