C 1 May, 2009 rate of export duty on oil will increase to 137-138 dollars per ton from the current 110 dollars per tonne. The statement was made by the deputy head of department of customs payments Finance Alexander Sakovich, RIA News.
Recall that from 1 April 2009 the rate of export duty on crude oil was reduced from 115.3 to 110 dollars per ton, and March 1 - increased from 100.9 to 115.3 dollars per ton. This was the first time in the last four months, raising the oil tax rate which is calculated based on an average oil price brand Urals.
The rate of duty on April 1, will be calculated based on the average price of monitoring the Russian oil from 15 March to 14 April at 47,8-47,9 dollars per barrel.
Export duties on crude oil declined last six months due to falling prices for hydrocarbons in the global market. The maximum rate of tax was recorded in August 2008 - 495 dollars per tonne. By the end of December, when the price of oil fell to a five-year minimum - 33 dollar per barrel mark WTI, the fee dropped to 119.1 dollars per ton. Now oil is traded in world markets at a price above 50 dollars per barrel.
In autumn 2008, oil prices began to fall. The Russian oil industry has repeatedly requested the Government to accelerate the decline in rates of duty on oil exports, as well as in a drastic fall in the price of oil rate of "do not have time" to fall, following the market. Because of this, to remove oil from Russia, for many companies is simply inefficient. In the first half of 2008, the fee increase does not keep pace with rising prices in the market, so the oil industry received an additional profit.
