Later, Russian media reported that Gazprom has increased its position on reducing the volume of purchases of Russian gas, "Naftogaz" from 40 to 33 billion cubic meters. In doing so, "Naftogaz" is trying to avoid paying penalties that could amount to half a billion dollars.
Earlier, the Russian side expressed readiness to meet the Ukrainians, and reduce the supply of fuel "Naftogaz", but the contract was not issued.
