The statement was made chairman of the board of Gazprom Alexei Miller during a meeting with the Prime Minister of Russia Vladimir Putin, informs RIA Novosti.
April 2, Miller met with heads of European companies that are the biggest consumers of Russian gas. The meeting was attended by leaders of the German Ruhrgas, the Italian Eni and French Gas de France.
"This document (declaration - approx. Lenta.Ru") has been developed without the participation of the major players in the gas market in Europe - Russia as a supplier, and European companies - the biggest consumers of Russian gas. Our overall assessment, that this approach makes the document absolutely non-", - said Miller.
According to Miller, the meeting agreed to "establish a working group which will meet in a month and a half at the same high level to discuss issues of improving the reliability and stability of gas transit through the territory of Europe."
Formerly General Manager of Eni, Paolo Skaroni invited to create a consortium to manage Ukraine TCU. "Talking about the increase in the supply of gas without the participation of those who supply gas, and those who buy it - waste of time" - he said. Earlier, a proposal for the establishment of the consortium were the Russian authorities, but Kiev does not intend to lose control over the GTS. Skaroni also believes that expanding the capacity of the transmission system of Ukraine, which was adopted at a conference in Brussels - "not only the loss of time, but the loss of funds."
Recall that the Prime Minister of Ukraine Yulia Tymoshenko has signed on 23 March in Brussels, together with the European Union declaration on the modernization of the Ukrainian GTS. The document was prepared without the participation of the Russian side. In Europe, believe that the modernization of the Ukrainian GTS will cost three billion dollars, while Gazprom's investments in estimate 16-30 billion dollars.
According to TCU Ukraine Russia supplies to consumers in the EU 80 per cent of their fuel purchases. One fifth of all gas consumed by Europe buys in Russia.
