53 percent of Russians who consider themselves middle class, saying that the crisis they are not touched, and in enterprises where they work, do everything possible to alleviate the current situation. Such a statement at a forum on "Strategy 2020" was made VTsIOM Director Valery Fyodorov, the PRIME-TASS.
According to Fyodorov, 68 percent of respondents are prepared to deal with the consequences of its own crisis. In doing so, 28 percent of respondents are confident that in the event of dismissal from the current place of work will be able to find an equivalent position.
At the end of March from the published report VTsIOM has learned that 51 percent of Russians expressed a strong concern about the crisis, while 12 percent of respondents named the country's disastrous economic situation. In response to the crisis half of the inhabitants of Russia have begun to save on food, 42 percent - on clothes and shoes, while 24 per cent - in the treatment and medicine.
By the middle class include 20-25 per cent of Russia, including employees of large companies, small and medium business and bureaucracy. In January 2008, Ministry of Economic Development has predicted that the proportion of middle-class in the country would rise to 30 percent by 2010.
