Decrease in gas production in Russia in the next four to five years to reach 10 per cent. The statement was made vice-chairman of "Gazprom" Valery Golubev. According to him, in real terms this is about 60-70 billion cubic meters of gas, which corresponds to the annual consumption of Russian gas by Ukraine, RIA News.
According to the Central Dispatching Management of fuel and energy complex (TEK CDU), in the first quarter of 2009 the volume of gas production in Russia declined by 15 percent over the same period last year - up to 153 billion cubic meters.
Previously, it was reported that some large companies decline in production was very significant. For example, in "Gazprom" by mid-March, the average extraction fell by a quarter compared with the year 2008.
Reduced production due to the fact that in the context of the global financial crisis and recession in the global economy, demand for raw materials has fallen significantly.
The share of Gazprom accounts for 84 per cent of the volume of Russian gas production and 17 per cent of the total gas produced in the world. In 2007, Gazprom produced 548.6 billion cubic meters of gas, and in 2009, Gazprom increased its gas production to 549.7 billion cubic meters. This is 11.3 billion cubic meters less than the company's plan for 2008 (according to CDU TEK - extraction by Gazprom in 2008 amounted to 550.6 billion cubic meters).
Previously, it was reported that Russian gas monopoly allows the reduction of production in 2009 to 7 per cent and the minimum amount of production was established in 2009 at 510 billion cubic meters.
