Lithuania has received a loan for one billion euros.

Lithuania received from the European Investment Bank (European Investment Bank, EIB) loan of 1.13 billion euros. The first tranche for 340 million euros will be immediately Vilnius, reports AFP.
Funds received from the EIB, Lithuania will send to the investment in infrastructure, education and health projects. Credit issued Vilnius on 25 years of 4.2 percent a year. At the same time, Lithuania will pay interest on the loan, only the first 7 years.
Economy of Lithuania has suffered because of the financial crisis. Last year, the country's GDP grew by 3.1 per cent, while in 2009 it is expected, the economy shrink by 4.9 percent. In 2007 Lithuania's GDP growth rate reached the record high of 8.9 percent.
In March, Prime Minister Andrius Kubilyus said that budget revenues in Lithuania in 2009 will be lower than anticipated. The authorities expect to cope with the situation by reducing public expenditure to 920 million dollars, said AFP.
Recall that prior loan from the IMF and the EU countries Latvia has received, the economic situation which remains the worst among all EU countries. The total loan amounted to 7.5 billion euros. Of this amount, in the country's coffers have already been tranche in the amount of 1,6 billion euros.
