Gas Agreement with Ukraine imports include "Naftohaz" 5 billion cubic meters of Russian gas in the first quarter, 10.5 billion cubic meters - in the second, 12 billion cubic meters - in the third and 12.5 billion cubic meters - in the fourth. Later on "Naftogaz" has asked to reduce gas supply to 33 billion cubic meters a year, but Gazprom has agreed so far not given.
Since 2010, the volume of purchases of gas by Ukraine will be increased to 52 billion cubic meters a year. In doing so, "Naftogaz" will be obliged to pay a minimum of 80 percent from the volume, even if the gas it would not be needed.
February 26, 2009 Press Secretary, "Naftogaz" Valentin Zemlyanskiy said that the Ukrainian company has collected enough money to pay with Gazprom for gas deliveries in February 2009. According to the Russian-Ukrainian contract, Ukraine is obliged to pay the fuel no later than 7 of the month following the month of delivery.
