Debts under the salary Russians increased by 16 percent per month.

Arrears of wages in Russia in February 2009 rose by 16.1 per cent to 8087 billion rubles, said in a press release Rosstat. The statistics office did not take into account the small businesses.
Most of the arrears of wages are in arrears organizations without their own means. According to Rosstat, the share of this debt-to-1 March 2009 amounted to 7551 billion rubles, or 93.4 percent of the total delay. This figure increased over the month at 14.6 percent.
The greatest growth has debts due to late receipt of funds from the budgets of all levels. This type of delay was 536 million rubles, and for the past month increased by 42 percent. In doing so, the debt of the federal budget grew by 88.5 percent to 230 million rubles, the budgets of the subjects of Russia - at 91.9 per cent to 151 million rubles, while the local budgets - by 12,3 percent to 155 million rubles.
Arrears of wages in Russia grew during two months in a row. In January, the debts for wages rose by half to nearly seven billion rubles. Simultaneously with the growth of a delay in salary in Russia is happening and rising unemployment. According to the data at 13 March 2009, the number of officially registered unemployed in the country amounted to 2077 million. Even at the end of January, unemployment was less than 1,7 million. According to the Ministry of Health and Social Development, the official unemployment rate in Russia by the end of the year was 2.8 million.
