The number of unemployed people in Spain in January 2009 increased by 6,35 percent compared to the previous month, which was the highest in the last 12 years. Reported agency AFP, referring to the Ministry of Labor countries.
The total number of remaining unemployed Spaniards by the end of January this year increased by more than 198 thousand people and more than 3.3 million. Over the past year the number of unemployed has risen by a total of 47.12 percent.
In the fourth quarter of last year, the unemployment rate in Spain amounted to 13.91 per cent, while in the third quarter - 11,33 percent. This is the third quarter was the highest in the EU. It is estimated the Spanish authorities, by the end of 2009, unemployment reached 15.9 percent.
