Ukraine has refused to move gas to the countries of Eastern Europe in exchange.

The statement was made by Vice-Premier Igor Sechin Russia, RIA Novosti reported. Earlier, Russia and some Eastern European countries offered Ukraine to start gas deliveries in the three countries, promising to compensate perekachannye volumes.

The need for an exchange with Ukraine on Jan. 14, 2009 stated Chairman of the Board of Gazprom Alexei Miller. They spoke about the exchange, in which Gazprom has pledged prokachat to Ukraine 20 million cubic meters of gas. Ukraine, in turn, was put in Moldova, Bulgaria and Slovakia by the same amount of gas.
European consumers do not receive Russian gas from 7 January 2009, when Gazprom halted fuel transit through Ukraine. January 13, a Russian company has started to bring gas intended for transit, the system of export pipelines, but Ukraine refused to provide transportation. According to the Ukrainian side, the amount claimed by the transfer of gas is so small that its transit is technically not possible.
