Rada adopted a deficit budget for 2009.

Verkhovna Rada adopted in first reading, and generally act on the budget of Ukraine for 2009. That was reported by RIA Novosti. The document was adopted by the minimum required number of votes (226 of 450).
According to the "Obkoma", the document supported the factions BYuT and Lytvyn Bloc (both at full strength), more than half of the deputies of the faction NUNS and four "regional". Communists in the vote did not participate.
Earlier, remember Rada made several attempts to pass a law on the budget. However, for its approval did not have enough votes.
The budget for 2009, in accordance with the government, is scarce. Limit the deficit, as previously reported, was set at the level of 31 billion hryvnia (about four billion dollars).
The draft, prepared by the government, criticized both the Communists and regionaly "and some members of the faction NUNS (those who previously had refused to form a coalition with BYuT). Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko has called the budget "a tragedy", saying its authors had shown excessive optimism, rather than by the actual macroeconomic performance.
The former leader of the faction NUNS Vyacheslav Kyrylenko said that his supporters from the new group "For Ukraine!" (in her recall includes supporters of the president, refused to form an alliance with BYuT) would support the budget if it will increase defense spending, health and culture, UNIAN reported.
It should be noted that at a meeting of parliament on December 26, a deputy from the Party of Regions, Alexander Peklushenko said that as a result of consultations held over the past days, the expenditure budget was increased to 1.5 billion hryvnia (about 200 million dollars). According to the "Economic government budget revenues in 2009 amount to 238 billion hryvnia (at six billion hryvnia more than in 2008). The cost - 266 billion hryvnia (in thirteen billion hryvnia more than in 2008).
