Export duty on Russian oil will reduce to one hundred dollars.

The export duty on oil to Russia from 1 February 2009 can be reduced to about 100-103 dollars per ton. This statement was made by the Finance Ministry Alexander Sakovich, reports RIA Novosti. In January 2009, the fee amounts to 119.1 dollars per tonne.
Reducing the rate of duty on oil, emerging from the average price of fuel over the past month, may occur due to falling oil prices. According to monitoring the Ministry of Finance, with 15 December, 2008 to January 11, 2009 the average cost of barrel of oil reached 39.8 dollars. According Sakovich, at the level of January, the February fee may stay until 15 January when the price of oil will be at the level of 67.5 dollars per barrel, but it was "unrealistic."
Remember, at the end of last year, the Government of Russia started to reduce export duties on crude oil. In December, the fee rate was reduced from 192.1 to 119.1 dollars per tonne. In August, the rate exceeded 495 dollars.
Previously, domestic oil complained that they were unprofitable to export oil from the country in terms of low fuel prices. According to the Ministry of Finance, in the last months of 2008, domestic oil exporters have lost about seven billion dollars because of high export duties.
Oil prices on world markets on January 12 fell below 40 dollars a barrel. In July 2008, the value of barrel of oil reached a record 147 dollars.
