The EU and Ukraine have agreed to monitor the supply of gas.

The European Commission has requested in connection with an agreement as soon as possible to resume the deliveries of Russian gas to Europe. Previously, it was reported that the Ukrainian side expressed its willingness to restore the transit of Russian fuel, after Russia will resume its supply.
It was expected that on 9 January to Ukraine will arrive European observers to monitor the transit of fuel from Russia, RIA Novosti recalls. The agreement provides for admission of observers to the territory of Ukraine, was signed by Naftogaz of Ukraine and the EU on January 8.
Remember, Russia fully stopped gas transit through Ukraine on 7 January, accusing Naftogaz "in an unauthorized selection of fuel, which was to reach consumers in Europe. In turn, the Ukrainian side declared that only takes a gas needed for the transit.
Deliveries of Russian gas, Ukraine itself terminated with effect from 1 January, as the parties have not signed a new contract. This was due to the fact that Gazprom and Naftogaz can not agree on a purchase price for Russian fuel.
