The budget deficit has forced California to freeze the development of infrastructure.

   California because of the budget deficit has suspended the implementation of infrastructure projects. On this December 18 writes newspaper The New York Times.
Freezing of about two thousand projects will allow California authorities to save 3.8 billion dollars. State Treasurer Bill Lokker explained: "Unfortunately, we can not spend money that we do not have." The budget deficit in California this year is 14.8 billion dollars. The state risks remain without cash by February 2009.
Among the postponed or canceled caught projects related to the development of road networks, construction and repair of schools, veterans homes, prisons, fire stations, apartment buildings. Also of state will lose some of the environmental projects.
In early December, California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger announced at the increasing budget deficit emergency financial situation. This allows authorities greater freedom to apply measures to reduce the deficit. An Republican governor and legislators from the Democratic Party offered a temporary increase in state taxes. However, the decision is not supported by legislators, Republicans.
